Q7860010: After we installed a Microsoft patch, the AxNmSvc.exe crashes. The Event Viewer shows the following error in the Application Log: "Faulting application AxsNmSvc.exe, version 0.0.0.0, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 5.2.3790.0, fault address 0x00013bef". Is this a bug?
The module that crashes is the Network Monitor Engine ('AxNmSvc.exe'). Somehow, the NTDLL API (NTDLL.DLL) got corrupted. The most common reasons are: (-) Installation of a virus scanner; (-) Installation of a screensaver. ActiveXperts Network Monitor may not be the only software on your server that is suffering from this; also other applications and services may have undesirable results.
